Bioeconomist and organic food specialist, since 1999, I have been selecting and coordinating a network of Italian organic food producers to establish ethical and profitable commercial relationships with key international organic retail partners. My work focuses on dairy products, salami, and selected bakery and pastry items.
I grew up in one of Italy’s renowned regions for most historically cheese production, my work includes cheese selection for several of these partners and I am a certified ONAF cheese taster.
In line with the principles of the organic movement, I have been a pioneer in promoting bulk food equipment in Europe and have contributed to the development of organic and bulk food stores and dedicated retail corners.
Alongside my professional activity, I conduct research on historical research in bioeconomics, organic agriculture, agroecology, and political ecology. I am a member of the editorial board of Altronovecento, the magazine founded by Giorgio Nebbia, considered the father of Italian scientific environmentalism.
I have been a member of IFOAM since 2018, a founding member of the Italian Society for Environmental History (SISAM), and a member of the Scuola di Bioeconomia at the University of Perugia.
Landscape and Territorial Cultures Reader, architect and eco-designer, I spent some years engaged in academic research with the LPE (Ecological Design Laboratory) at the Polytechnic University of Milan, working on landscape and territorial analysis and on the development of participatory territorial projects. This research involved international case studies, fieldwork and writing.
In 2004, I began collaborating with bioeco.net, contributing to the communication of the relationships between products and the territories from which they originate, as well as the ways agricultural practices can contribute to the conservation and regeneration of landscapes. I have helped build collaborative networks among agricultural producers, organized and designed trade events, and designed equipment, solutions and complete retail spaces for bulk and package-free products in Italy and several European countries.
In parallel, and driven by the same values, I have worked as a garden designer focusing on urban and peri-urban micro-rewilding: creating gardens and spaces conceived as micro-ecosystems capable of positively influencing local microclimates, social behaviour and awareness of the complexity, importance and beauty of ecosystems, while providing habitat and resources for pollinators.
I continue to study the history and evolution of landscapes in relation to social, political and economic dynamics, as well as botany and disciplines exploring the relationships between society, ecology and territory.
These ongoing studies continue to inform and enrich both my perspective and my work with bioeco.net
